Teaching women to heal changes entire families and communities.

The GEMAS Structure

The Origins of GEMAS PV

Built on Ancestral Guidance

Born from Grief and Survival. Guided by Ancestors. Rising Together in Love and Light. GEMAS PV was not simply founded; it was an answered prayer wished into existence. It was born from the ashes of heartbreak, the roar of survival, and a sacred vow:

No more toxic silence and no more unhealed, inherited ancestral pain.

Our founder Maria Félix carries this vow in her soul.

A survivor of domestic violence, a mother, a ceremonial guide, and a visionary with over thirty years of nonprofit leadership, she knew that healing one woman could ripple through generations.

GEMAS PV is her offering to the world, it’s a nonprofit where ancestral wisdom meets modern healing through community resources and professional services.

Where women rise from trauma into power and where grief becomes a ceremonial cry for justice, for women to find the courage within to advocate for themselves and their families and where a community of women becomes family.

This is not just an organization, it is a movement for justice, an answered prayer and a legacy of love and commitment to transform pain into purpose.

Biography & Circle of Return

Maria Félix was born in Jalisco, where the land itself carries the songs of her ancestors. At just five years old, she was carried north to the United States, a migration that would shape her path as a survivor, visionary, and fierce advocate for women and girls.

In Long Beach, California, Maria founded California Families in Focus (https://www.mycff.org), a groundbreaking nonprofit that uplifted thousands through award-winning programs, healing events, and culturally rooted empowerment. For over three decades, she led with heart and precision, designing trauma-informed curricula, building coalitions, and creating spaces where women could rise from silence into strength. But the longing and the call of her motherland never left her soul.

She calls her return to Puerto Vallarta her full circle move, a sacred homecoming to the place where she took her first breath, and

Maria Félix

"I acknowledge how fortunate I am that I am a survivor and not a statistic. I feel it is not only my duty but my responsibility to teach women how to advocate for themselves and their children and become self-sufficient so they don't feel obligated to stay in a relationship full of violence and uncertainty."

where she intends to take her last. It is here, on the shores ofJalisco, that GEMAS PV was born, not just as an organization, but as a living altar to memory, healing, and intergenerational transformation and an homage to giving back and sharing her blessings with the women of Puerto Vallarta.

Every workshop, ceremony, and service at GEMAS PV carries the wisdom of Maria’s journey. It is infused with the proven practices of California Families in Focus and the ancestral guidance of her lineage. It is a bridge between worlds, between modern tools and ancient medicine, between Long Beach and Vallarta, between grief and grace.

Her return is not just geographic, it is spiritual, and it is a vow to honor the women who came before her and protect those yet to rise and step into their own power, it is a reclamation of story, soil, and soul.

Core Healing Philosophy
At the core of GEMAS PV’s services are ancestral practices and complementary spiritual healing modalities offered through a joint venture with the Infinity Women’s Wellness Retreat Center. Each organization feeds the other: GEMAS PV channels community-based advocacy, education, and crisis services into the Retreat Center’s deeper ceremonial and somatic work, while the Retreat Center strengthens GEMAS
PV’s healing curricula with ritual, sound, and embodied practices. Together they create integrated pathways that heal women and girls across emotional, spiritual, physical, and
economic dimensions.
